Open Music Review

Editorial policy

Open Music Review aims to make music easier to hear and discuss. We explain our reasoning, distinguish interpretation from verifiable detail and correct meaningful errors openly.

Accuracy and interpretation

We take care with names, dates, credits, terminology and descriptions of musical form. Interpretations are presented as readings, not facts that every listener must accept. Where a claim needs support, we seek reliable, relevant sources and avoid implying certainty beyond what they establish.

Independence

Editorial choices are made for their value to readers. A gift, access arrangement or other relevant connection will not determine what we say about music. We do not promise favourable coverage in return for money, products or access.

Corrections

Readers can report an error through the Contact page. We review correction requests, amend confirmed mistakes and make significant corrections clear in the relevant material. We do not silently alter a meaningful error in a way that leaves readers unable to tell what changed.

Partner material and illustrations

Paid placements and partner contributions are clearly labelled so readers can distinguish them from editorial work. Partner arrangements do not buy editorial conclusions. Some illustrations may be generated with AI; where that is the case, the image is identified accordingly.

Our listening idea

Attention is the best listening tool.

Open Music Review looks for the choices inside a sound, not a costly setup or a single correct way to listen.
